Old Street · Free House
3 Baldwin Street — London, Old Street. Craft beer, a heated roof terrace, real ales and Sunday roasts, kept by the Durrant family since 1964.
— Since 1964 —
The Old Fountain sits on Baldwin Street, a short walk from Old Street station. It was a Whitbread house when the Durrants took it on. It is a free house now, with nine handpulls, twenty taps, and a kitchen that cooks Sri Lankan street food beside London classics.
Come for a pint of something you know, or a third of something you do not. Stay for the roast, the terrace, or simply the room: dark wood, stained glass, and a green leather banquette that has heard a great many conversations.
